I think my favorite part about this is that these aren't just random sounds – these are used in real languages as distinct sounds, from tonemes and vocal register to approximants and fricatives. As far as I'm concerned, this is a tool to experience the nuances of phonology firsthand.

Fascinating. I won't say anything more, to avoid spoilers. I'll come back later with more substantive comments, after more people have played the game.

spoilers for what? is there something that happens at the end of the game? i finished it and the sounds now just seem randomized

More just that the process of figuring out what to do was enjoyable, and I didn't want the first comment someone reads to be "I thought I had to do this, but then I realized I had to do this instead, so do that first."
